Better communication

Every driver, car or bike, knows the situation that he is approaching a crossing or junction and he sees another vehicle coming. The question is often if the other road user has seen you! Only when this question is answered you can concentrate on the other traffic.

If the approaching vehicle is equipped with Safety Lights you can see on the front side if he is braking or not braking. Especially the information "not braking" is very useful because in that case the other vehicle is not stopping and not giving right of way. If you are extra careful in that circumstance you yourself can prevent an accident. The communication with Safety Lights is optimal en you can concentrate on other matters much sooner. You also are warned, in time, if you are not getting right off way!

If you brake you have to look at the traffic behind you to see if they react too. If the traffic behind you is also braking is easy to see with the Safety Lights because you have a braking signal on the front of cars. You can immediately draw your attention to other matters.

Also at pedestrian crossings it is very useful for the pedestrians to see if the traffic is braking or not braking. In practice this already works. Pedestrians react positively to the flashings when you brake because they already understand you are stopping to give them right off way. This is understandable because we give a signal with our lights if we want to tell the other that we give him right of way.

A braking signal in front gives you the insurance that the traffic behind you is braking. This is very reassuring when you approach a traffic jam (the signal is generated automatically) and you can focus in front off you if you perhaps can prevent a collision. The question may be asked how many drivers did see the traffic jam but because they were too much focused on traffic coming behind them that they did collide after all.
